Doors v4.58

Doors v4.58 makes two program corrections.

  1. On some EntraGuard Platinum units, performing a “Smart Update” on Doors would cause the
keypad to lock up. The EntraGuard Platinum unit would display “Updating, please stand by” and
remain in this state until either the power was cycled to the unit or a “Total Update” was
performed from Doors. The cause of this type of situation has been fixed.
  2. On some EntraGuard Titanium and Silver units, performing a “Smart Update,” “Total Update,” or
“Operate Doors > Update Doors” on Doors would cause any future keypad commands to be
ignored by the EntraGuard unit. The EntraGuard Titanium or Silver unit would remain in this
state until power was cycled to the unit. This issue has been fixed.

NOTE: Upgrading the Doors software to v4.58 requires the following associated upgrades only
when an EntraGuard unit is in use in the network:

  • PXL-500/PXL-510 v8.4.51
  • EntraGuard Platinum v9.1.4
  • EntraGuard Titanium/Silver v7.4.03

PXL-500 Firmware v8.4.51

PXL-500/PXL-510 Firmware v8.4.51 contains two fixes. These fixes are only needed on networks
where an EntraGuard unit is in use:

  2. On some EntraGuard Titanium and EntraGuard Silver units, performing a “Smart Update,” “Total
Update,” or “Operate Doors > Update Doors” on Doors would cause any future keypad
commands to be ignored by the EntraGuard unit. The EntraGuard Titanium or EntraGuard Silver
unit would remain in this state until power was cycled to the unit. This issue has been fixed.

NOTE: Upgrading the PXL-500/PXL-510 firmware to v8.4.51 requires the following associated
upgrades only when an EntraGuard unit is in use in the network:

  • Doors Software v4.58
  • EntraGuard Platinum v9.1.4
  • EntraGuard Titanium/Silver v7.4.03

EntraGuard Firmware

EntraGuard Gold/Silver/Titanium Firmware v7.3.17 and EntraGuard Platinum Firmware v9.0.3 contain one name display change and a Daylight Saving Time change mandated by the U.S. federal government:

  • Display name change:
Specific model names have been removed from the menu listing. All EntraGuard units will simply display "EntraGuard".
  • Daylight Saving Time date change:
Due to the change in US Federal law governing the beginning and ending dates for Daylight Saving Time, the firmware has been changed to reflect the new dates. Beginning in 2007
Daylight Saving Time will "Spring Forward" on the second Sunday in March. Daylight Saving
Time will "Fall Back" on the first Sunday in November. To bypass the firmware update, refer to the Daylight Saving Adjustment Application Note (P/N 01980-001).

Connector Tolerance

Keri has switched to a new connector vendor for our PXL and EntraGuard controllers. The new connector has a better interlocking mechanism between connector plug and socket, providing a more secure connection.

Keri extensively tested the interconnectivity of the two vendors and found no issues. However if both connectors are at the far end of their tolerances it appears that the mechanical connection between the two vendors can be affected. Because of this, Keri strongly recommends you do not mix the two connector types in an installation.

All PXL and EntraGuard controllers are shipped with an installation kit that has all the correct connectors necessary for that controller. If you are replacing an existing controller with a new controller in an installation, please replace the connectors on the existing wiring with the connectors provided with the new controller. This will eliminate the tolerance issue between connector manufacturers and ensure good seating between connector plug and socket.

The Connector Tolerance document provides information on how to distinguish old manufacturer from new manufacturer connectors.
